Magnum Opus LLC ("Astralis", "we", "us", "our") operates the Astralis mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Astralis, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Data - Email address, name, username (for authentication and account identification)
• Birth Data - Date of birth, time of birth, place of birth (for core chart calculations across multiple esoteric systems)
• Full Birth Name - Legal name at birth (for numerology and name analysis calculations)
• Gender - Male/Female (for element balance calibration)
• Location Data - Current city, last birthday city (for solar return, astrocartography, and transit readings)
• Connection Data - Names and birth data of people you add (for compatibility matrix analysis)
• Chat Messages - Questions you ask the AI astrologer (for generating personalized AI responses)

1.2 Sensitive Data

We may collect health-related data if you choose to connect wearable devices (e.g., Apple HealthKit). This data is classified as sensitive personal data and includes sleep patterns, activity levels, and heart rate data.

This data is collected ONLY with your explicit opt-in consent. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings → Data Management.

1.3 Automatically Collected Data

• Device type and OS version (app compatibility, debugging)
• App usage analytics (improving features)
• Crash reports (bug fixes)
• IP address (fraud prevention, approximate geolocation)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate your personalized readings - natal charts, daily readings, compatibility matrices, astrocartography maps
• Power AI features - the AI Astrologer chat and Matrix Lab generate responses based on your chart data
• Send notifications - daily cosmic pulse, transit alerts, and cycle shift reminders (with your permission)
• Improve the Service - analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features
• Manage your account - authentication, subscription management, customer support
• Prevent fraud - protect against unauthorized access and abuse

We do NOT sell your personal data, use your birth data for advertising targeting, share your data with data brokers, or create advertising profiles from your chart data.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Astralis uses artificial intelligence to generate readings, chat responses, and compatibility analyses. All readings and chat responses are AI-generated - they are not produced by human astrologers. AI outputs are for self-discovery and entertainment purposes only and do not constitute professional advice.

Your chart data is sent to AI provider APIs to generate responses. These providers do not use data submitted via their API for training purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Data is stored on Supabase servers (AWS infrastructure) with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plaintext
• Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables - users can only access their own data
• Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access - know what personal data we hold about you
• Correction - request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion - request deletion of your data
• Portability - receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Revocation of consent - withdraw consent at any time

6. Data Retention

• Account data, chart data, readings, and chat messages: retained until you delete your account
• Health data synced from Apple Health or Health Connect is stored securely in your account until you remove it or delete your account
• Analytics data: 24 months, then anonymized
• Crash reports: 90 days

Upon account deletion, we permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Astralis is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
